On Wednesday I met with my tutee Amwar. He is from Iraq. It was pretty cool to meet someone from Iraq. He said that he is enjoying his stay here but he is under a great deal of stress. He said that he would like help with his listening skills because he can't listen very well. He also said that he would like help with his context clues and the ability to paraphrase a story. So those are the things we are going to work on. It was only the first meeting so we are looking forward to working with each other.
I like that you mentioned context clues...I think they are essential.
