Kerri TS #9
Tonight Mohammed and I practiced speaking and learning new vocabulary. We have not been able to meet for a while, so we spent a little while catching up on what is going on in our lives. He recently traveled to Tampa to take an English exam of some kind, but he thought it was easy. He also told me about a video he made surprising his family that has recently gone viral in Saudi Arabia. He was really excited for the attention it has gotten. During our session, I quizzed him on the words in his vocabulary notebook. He asked me to read the definitions and example sentences to him to provide context for him to name the word. He struggled with some words that sound similar to others or have multiple meaning. For example, he confused "content" with "contain" and was confused about the word "treat" which changes meaning according to whether it is used as a verb or a noun. We need to continue practicing new vocabulary because Mohammed does really well with correct any grammar errors he makes as they happen in conversation.
