For today's speaking portion of ICCP we created sample dialogues that showed someone having intercultural conflict over food sharing. Hamed and I had used the example of being offered coffee to drink in his house and having me over as his guest. If i refused the coffee, I would have been disrespecting his culture and how if someone makes you food or prepares beverages for you that it would be rude to not accept the food. We decided the easiest solution to this problem, would be to accept the coffee that is offered regardless of if you may be in the mood for coffee. I find myself agreeing with this custom. Generally, when I make food or drinks for somebody and they refuse it, I am very offended. I love cooking and hosting people, but I think I may be in a minority for this one as far as people in the States.
