This session was held with Maria V. Maria is working on reading skills so I had her read a short article entitled Underground Events. This article included new vocabulary for her. The article contrasted life using the subway system in NY with events going on with life on a beach in Jamaica. We discussed the verb tense the article was written in also I asked her questions to see if she could comprehend the article. Maria also wanted to work on improving listening skills. I found an excellent listening skills game online which she enjoyed. The game featured pairing words that sound the same and the listener had to identify the same words using a card game. This was very enjoyable game and great learning tool.
A very complete tutoring session with lots of variety.
