Mohammed and I focused on speaking, vocabulary, and culture tonight. He was at the IC workshop today, so I started the session by discussing the skits we created today. We talked mostly about offering and refusing food and how it is perceived in his culture. He told me his former tutor once refused food he had prepared for her in his home, but she ate a small portion so it was not considered rude. We continued with our normal session format by practicing vocabulary. He likes for me to read the definition and examples for him to guess the word. He only guessed a few correctly this time, so I suggested he incorporate the new vocabulary into his everyday conversations.
