Brian TS #13
For my next meeting with my Colombian adult tutee, we continued in the spirit of our previous lesson, working on conversational situations and details. I had prepared some conversation topics for us to discuss, but by now, our conversation flows very naturally. Telling stories back and forth, and fielding questions about specific settings she had been in or phrases she had heard. These sessions from the outside might sound easy, but helping her navigate through the confusing world of American social interaction proved much more difficult than I thought. It seems like every situation is delicate and the slightest misstep can offend.
