Kerri TS #11

Abdullah and I decided to switch things up a bit tonight and focus on conversational speaking skills rather than using new vocabulary in context. He has been very busy in his personal life lately because he just moved into a new apartment. We discussed the struggles of relocating, as I am also in the process of looking for a different place to live. During our session we were approached by a homeless woman who asked us for 50 cents, so this sparked a discussion about poverty in America and government funding for those in need. He was curious about this type of custom here, and he told me about life in Saudi Arabia as well. He told me I should consider teaching English in Saudi Arabia because apparently English teachers earn high salaries there, and he convinced me to at least look into it. Since we were sharing personal stories, Abdullah and I focused on practicing various past tenses. He typically corrected his own errors, but I would restate the sentence correctly if he did not get it right the first time. It is always a nice session with Abdullah because he is happy to share culture with me.
