I observed Calyn Stringer's reading (level
3) class. The students read a passage about rattlesnakes and noted the time taken to read it. Then, they answered multiple choice and short
answer questions. The recorded reading times and quiz scores track student progress in reading speed and accuracy through the course. At the end of class, the teacher read five pages of the book, “Holes,”
to the class.
