Today, Young had selected a couple of books on her own to read. The one she described as difficult was not a higher grade level book; however, it contained a few words written in script and names such as Goldilicious and Pinkalicious. On pronouncing the new words, she sped through the book. The other book was a paperback novella on Tinkerbell and her community of fairies. We started it and she said she would finish it by herself. Next, she completed some worksheets I download and print from Tlsbooks.com. This website has great free materials appropriate for elementary school students. Young enjoys the worksheets and they are wonderful for introducing new vocabulary.
