Today I had a great tutoring session with
Nayun. Her father brought her homework assignments and several books to read. The homework
consisted of word sound similarities, spelling and short letter “a” sound. She read
the instructions for each task and then proceeded to do the assignment. She was
getting tired after a while, but, she got excited when I told her we were going
to play a game on the iPad at the end. Today she learned some new words, like
tiger and thimble. She also got a perfect sore with my help on the spelling
game she played on the iPad. I notice that she had some difficulty with a
couple of letters from the alphabet, so I asked her if she would like to learn
the alphabet song. She said she didn’t know it and would like to learn it. Next
time I will bring an alphabet chart and teach her the song. She made several mistakes
while she was reading but I went over those words with her. She Nayun is an
intelligent and loving child and is a delight to work with her.
Can you tell me the name of the learning spelling app game? I use "boggle" and "scrabble" with David and Matthew, but this sounds fun for them too! Thanks Wanda!
