Matthew_TS#2

Today, I met with David and Matthew my twin child tutees. I have experience teaching these children already and I am very close to them, they are a very big reason as to why I decided to take the TEFL. I worked on the equivalent of what used to be "FCAT Writes" and is now called "FSA Writing". Matthew needs most help in the area of concentrating and organizing his thoughts before he continues to write. I modeled the process of pre-writing with him and helped him set up a good web map with the main idea and supporting facts. Perhaps, the most difficult part about teaching the writing to these boys is getting them to remember to cite their sources, and explain why they feel one way or another on the topic at hand. Ultimately, I have a great time whenever I tutor David and Matthew, however, I do enjoy teaching adults as well. I simply cannot make up my mind as to what group to teach in the future, any thoughts from you all?

  1. I think there are benefits to both, but to me it seems like you are leaning towards adults, despite liking your current child tutees. I feel the same way, as i prefer getting into the deeper nuances of the language rather than the fundamentals

  3. I agree with what Brian said. I believe you are leaning towards the adult students more less the children.
