Matthew_CP#2
After meeting my tutee at Starbucks, our conversations went off track after about an hour of studying. Soon we got started on talking about the Arab Spring, Al Jazeera, what it's like in Libya, and what it feels like to be in another country. Farj mentioned that Libya has many neighbors and that for that reason Libya is very diverse in and of itself. I mentioned my desire to teach in Cambodia or SE Asia, and he was very perplexed by this. I continued to tell him about my fascination with carnivorous plants and it was a good opportunity to talk about many topics while we sipped on coffee. He seems very shy and timid, yet willing to open up to me and I hope that within the next coming weeks that he can open up even more so we can both learn a lot of information from each other.
