Matthew_ TS#3
I met with Henrique outside of Strozier Library yesterday to help him practice his grammar along with his speaking skills, and writing basic sentences in multiple different formats i.e.) Past, present, future. He struggled the most with possessive pronouns like mine, yours, ours, etc. Luckily, it was a very beautiful day outside and we could use the surrounding environment to create sample sentences using the setting around us. Furthermore, a beautiful Cardinal was posted up on the tree closest to where we were studying, and it served as a practical teaching moment to educate him about cardinals and blue jays. He told me that he loved birds, just like I do. Most importantly, I learned that Angola is located near South Africa and that many people there speak Portuguese. I never had any idea that an African nation had this much influence from the Portuguese, so needless to say, Henrique taught me such a valuable piece of information yesterday.
