This tutoring session I decided to mix it up for them. Instead of doing worksheets and practicing how to pass the FSA test i set time aside to help them discover some great audio books. At first, the boys were very reluctant.Then, they began to look at titles with me and became very interested in the selection at the library. They picked out *too* many books and I had to help them narrow down their selection to a more consumable amount. I gave them a range of books that lasted between 45 minutes up to  audio books that lasted 8 hours. I told Mrs. Hong to play the books in the car, before bed, or whenever they have some free time.We also listened to a short sample ESL argument between two roommates for intermediate and advanced EFL learners. The argument came with good comprehension questions that I decided to use as part of the assignment. I ended the lesson by telling a story about myself and followed up with comprehension questions and had them write out my story using transition words as best they could. I corrected their errors and used them in a sample sentence.
